The Clock Church
This week I photographed "The Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina, Lagos".
Boarding a cab to Victorial Island … oh shit, the driver missed his way so while trying to find our way. I stumbled upon this Massive church with a clock called “The Cathedral Church of Christ”. This Cathedral Church of Christ dots the Marina landscape in Lagos like a beautiful bride.
Established in 1869, Cathedral Church of Christ stands prominent on Marina, Lagos Island. It’s the oldest Anglican Cathedral in the Church Of Nigeria Anglican Communion and also one of the finest of Cathedrals in Africa. Its current structure which was completed in 1946 is the third church built to house its congregation and was designed by one Architect Benjamin Bagandogi in a Norman Gothic Style.
The church is home to the well renowned Cathedral Church of Christ Choir, Lagos, a choral ensemble of men and boys who lead worship services and deliver Traditional Anglican Music during service at the cathedral. They also hold concerts and carols yearly.
